Located in Australia books - five novels to read before starting

A trip to Australia is one that offers an endless variety - you could spend your time in Sydney for holidays, you could make an adventurous trip to the Outback, or you can wallow in the many wineries on offer in several Australian states. Australia is a big country and you do not have months to go from there, you have to make decisions on how best to pass the time. To help you do that, here are some books set in Australia - five novels that represent the various aspects ofAustralian life and history.

"The river secret" by Kate Grenville

An ancient history of Australia, William Thornbill Sal and his wife are sent from London to the young colony of New South Wales in early 1800. After some time in Sydney (Sydney is very different from today!) They decide to try their luck on the terrain laid eyes on Hawkesbury River. The challenges they face in their environment, the local Aborigines and settlers fellow reminds usof how the country has been hard for all those who have decided to make their home. There are some beautiful descriptions of landscapes seen from a stranger, and the book gives a "good and evil" look at the impact of colonization on Aboriginal people of Australia.

"A Town Like Alice" by Neville Shute

While the first part of this novel takes place in the Malaysian jungle during the war, what follows is a story that makes you strong in Australia, countries. If you want to know what life is ina small town inland (more than a fraction really) in 1940 and '50, and this novel gives you a good idea. You are subject to the rugged landscape and the incredible distances involved, such as English, Jean Paget trip in the heart of Australia to find a man she met then captured by the Japanese in Malaysia. The language and attitudes, especially in relation to Aboriginal Australians, are faithful to their time and should be treated as such. But it gives a good indication ofreality of life in rural areas of Australia, something that is still a strong cultural influence on Australia today.

"Breath" by Tim Winton

From the desert to the sea today in this novel by one of the most respected writers in Australia. This novel takes place in the southwest corner of Australia, at a time when the region was more than a house for the forest industry for tourists and the vineyards of today. Set mostly in the 70's is a story of coming of age of a teenager who tries to Bruceovercome the boredom of country life with some high-risk activities - such as surfing off the coast can be, dangerous, deadly and develop a deep friendship with an older woman. As Bruce begins to grow, both emotionally and sexually, we are treated to some of the most poetic descriptions and exciting you'll ever find the "religion" that is surfing. And you feel like you've explored the rugged coastline and beautiful in this part of the country.

'BadDebts' by Peter Temple

Peter Temple is one of Australia's leading authors of the crime, and this is our introduction to the novel's hero, Jack Irish. - A center of Melbourne with a lawyer from the love of Australian football, the game and part-time woodworking. It 'was in Melbourne in winter, with its rain, pubs and shady underworld. Ireland has just been sober for a number of years after his dubious killed his wife, and now Danny, another former client, she needed his help.But when Danny was killed, the Irish discover there's a lot of the city's political elite who want the past to remain silent, and is determined to get to the truth. Novels temple can not give the "sun and sand", but you will be treated as a sub-vocabulary much more authentic Australian city, as you can manage.

"Summerland" by Malcolm Knox

And finally in Sydney, and a novel that explores the lives of the idle rich of the city. Four young friends in Sydney weresince they were teenagers, who live around the beaches of the north of the city, which have the world at their feet. Two couples and spend every Christmas in Palm Beach, a popular tourist destination for the rich. But despite all this, their friendship is based on lies, such as Richard discovers when he learns of the long-term business between his wife and his best friend. If you want a taste of a privileged few live in Sydney, then this novel will take you there.

These novelsare just a taste of many books set in Australia, but they are worth reading in preparation for the trip or the plane. Immerse yourself in a novel in which not only give you an overview of the place itself, but it will whet your appetite for your next trip, which makes it much better once you there.
