As for the centerpieces, you should make them attractive. Normally, people would use flowers for centerpieces. Another good option is to use candles. Whatever you use, make sure you are not making it exceptionally tall. Very tall centerpieces can be annoying as they will obstruct the view of the person facing you. Ensure that the centerpieces are not taller than six inches.

Now you have to set up the plates and cutlery on the table. Make sure everything is squeaky clean. Put the salad forks on the left and soup spoons on the right. Now keep the dessert fork closest to the plate. Basically, the order of cutlery is according to the courses that are served.
